ATWT 5-6b: Noah visits Win; Ameera secretly calls Win

Filed under: 0 1 Knapsack Videos — waven4 at 3:04 pm on Wednesday, March 31, 2010  Tagged , , , , , ,

PART 2/2 0:15 – I’ve never visted any one in jail but isn’t there normally a glass partition in between prisoner and visitor, with the two talking by phone? I believe only spouses get unobstructed contact. But I could be wrong 0:19 – Noah: “she’s not coming” Well, that ’s because you won’t have sex with her, Noah! ☺ Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I’ll stop… (and those who have no idea what I’m saying should just stay innocent) 1:14 – Win: “I wrote you a letter, maybe you didn’t get it” So WTF happened to that letter??? Who stole it out of Luke’s knapsack? It is one of two major unanswered questions about this storyline. The other is: What did Win want the first time, when the warden summoned Noah, leading to that ill-fated roadtrip. What was so important that couldn’t be handled on the phone? 2:15 – Noah: “find out what you want with Ameera” Then why didn’t Noah just call, instead of driving so far? Or better yet, have Ameera call and listen in 3:39 – Noah: “You killed my mother” / Win: “that woman was a liar and a whore” For those who don’t know, when Noah was an infant, his mother became a prostitute for some reason and Win threw her out. She later became a madame and found her way to Oakdale, where Win murdered her last year 7:15 – Luke: “a part of me, a REALLY BIG PART, wishes that we just never got involved in this” Hmm, I wonder what “big part” that is? heh. Sorry, but I just can’t help it when the writers are shoving all these sexual double-entendres in my face!!! 7

What Makes You Who You Are Today?

After people enter adulthood it is hard to believe that their actions and behaviors are not a result of their responsibilities. Some people never want to admit their shortcomings or failure since they live in a state of denial. It is not fair to say that only “losers” are in this category. Most successful people have been through this stage once or more. The difference here is some never have the courage to get out of the situation. For them living in their own “comfort” zone is the only guaranteed way for survival.

What makes people to be known as “losers” and what makes them to be known as winners? To find the right answer to this question I read many books and thought much too much. I came to the conclusion that winners and so called “losers” have one big thing in common. That big thing directly affects their lives and reflects in their lifestyle. That big thing is they all make DECISIONS!

Life is a process of making decisions and those decisions generally shape our lives. We make decisions constantly. From the crack of dawn to the end of the day, the moment we open our eyes we start to make decisions. Should I get up now or should I stay a little longer in bed? Should I eat light or should I have those yummy bacon and eggs? Should I hurry up and be on time to my class, work, or appointment, should I take it easy, or better yet, just call sick? Should I dress to impress or just show up casual? Am I going to be calm today or should I tear him apart!? You see where I am going? Daily decisions show our personality and temperament.

When a person makes a decision he or she has to go through a complex course in his or her brain. Depending on the nature of the subject and on the time remaining for making a certain decision, one has to process available information in a judgmental manner. This means to use some assessment related or unrelated to that subject to reach a final determination to make a choice. That choice is a decision!

There are small decisions and there are big decisions; there are good decisions, and of course, there are bad ones. Big or small, all decisions are either good or bad.

If a decision helps you achieve your goal, that decision is a good one, no matter small or big. This subject alone can be discussed vastly, but this is not the intention of this article.

What I would like to talk about in this short article is the foundation of making decisions and the impacts of every big decision in the life of each one of us.

Decision making is based on two main factors:

1- The amount of personal knowledge

2- The amount of personal experience

These two factors could potentially be related to each other. I can add another factor to the above list: our personal instincts. The latter is not as substantial in the absence of the other two factors.

Usually the more knowledge and experience someone has in life, the better the decision that person can make. Without doubt, this seems like a simple rule, but not all the time. This rule can not be applied to every circumstance.

If a person has enough knowledge and experience in his/her life, but lacks courage when necessary to take a risk, he/she doesn’t take it. The decision he/she makes is not to do anything! People should realize that when they don’t take action in situations that require action, they are making a decision by not doing anything at all!

Successful people don’t hesitate to make decisions when they need to. They approach their decisions with courage and are willing to take risks when necessary. Even when the outcome of the decision isn’t what they had expected, they accept the consequences without regret, knowing that taking calculated risks are an important part of success and decision making.

Successful people base their success on their defeats and they learn from every “bad” decision they have made. This means they don’t make the same mistake again and also they don’t feel terribly guilty about making them, instead, they continue to build their future based on lessons learnt from those mistakes in a positive manner. Mistakes are actually the foundation of every success.

What I would like to do in this article is to address all those who think they have made so many mistakes that there is no way to recover from them. I’d like to address all people who think they are at the end of their rope, to those who think they are failures and are looking for sympathy. If you are one of these people, I would like to tell you that you are wrong if you think you are done! If you’ve made mistakes, that’s fine, we all do. Your mistakes are your assets; your mistakes are your tools to your future success. Just look at it that way and you will not feel sorry for yourself anymore.

All you need to do is to take the responsibility of making bad decisions and not to blame anybody else, even though you were convinced or pushed by someone else. It is you who ultimately allowed that decision. Your lesson from this experience is: 1- not to give in easily 2- have your own independent mind. Once you reach to this sense, you’ll have a better vision to pave the way your future success.

There are no “losers” in this word. However, there are irresponsible, pitiful naggers and excuse-makers that don’t see the treasure they have: a knapsack of mistakes.

If they empty that knapsack and calculate how much each mistake cost them, then they will value their treasure.

So what make us who we are today is our decisions!

Tote Couture

Handbags, purses, totes, clutches, shoulder bags – I don’t care what you call them, I love them all. I am a handbag addict. I have them in a countless array of styles and colors.

Trends come and go, but “tote couture” remains. True handbag fashion is timeless. It is not about seasonal fads, but about creating a personal style and reflecting your good taste. A good purse will last not only for this season, but also for years to come. This means investing in quality bags, taking care of your purses and totes, and shopping for styles that work best for you.

Here are a few simple rules:

The Person-To-Bag Ratio

Do not carry a bag that overwhelms your body size. Petite women should not be lugging around oversized bags that slap their thighs because they hang too low from the shoulder. Not only does it look bad, but can be harmful to your lower back if your bag is too big and too heavy for your frame. Conversely, tall women look silly with a wrist purse. Shop according with proportion in mind.

Summertime is Fun Time!

Enjoy your summer and be more playful with your purse selection. Invest in straw bags, brighter colors, clutch purses with retro designs or a Pucci pattern shoulder bag. Generally speaking, summertime purses are less expensive and so it is easier to experiment with a variety of styles and colors. Find bags that complement particular outfits.

Quality Is In the Details

Before screaming, “I love it – it must be MINE!” and running to the cashier with credit card in hand, take a good look at the bag. Examine the lining to make sure it fits properly and isn’t too loose. Be sure the clasp or closure of the bag works properly and looks solidly made. Inspect the stitching and see if there is any fraying or other sign of poor quality.

The Care and Feeding Of Your Purse

Just as leather and suede shoes need a little TLC, so do leather and suede bags. Purchase products to help keep the leather soft, supple and lustrous and apply them several times a year. Remove any stains on fabric bags with warm water and a mild detergent. Rub in a circular motion, and never, ever scrub at the fabric. Check the maintenance instructions that come with your new purse and follow them.

Choose Your Bag According To the Occasion

Are you going to an evening gala? The beach? To a little café to meet some friends? Is the bag for work? All of these situations require a different purse to suit different needs. A hobo-style bag is too unstructured for a formal event such as an evening gala. A better option is a clutch or wrist bag, with beading, a luxurious fabric, or an eye-catching color to accent your little black dress. Despite the popular trend toward casual office attire, a student-style knapsack is inappropriate corporate attire. Women should look at other options such as a Kelly bag, a supple leather school bag, a structured messenger bag or even a large leather tote.

Mixing and Matching

Should you choose your everyday black handbag, or go for your new aqua Mulberry Roxy bag? It may sound simple, but it really depends on what you are wearing and how you feel. At one time, it was de rigueur to match your handbag and your shoes. Over the years that rule has become less important. Nowadays, handbag fashion is more about creating a look. Consider the color of your outfit, and choose a handbag that accents it. If your look is monochromatic grey, you might want to consider something that will make your outfit pop, like fashionista pink. However, if you are wearing a highly patterned dress, consider a simple cigar box purse, pulling one of the colors from your dress.

Style – It’s in the Bag

Attention shoppers: Get out there and express your personal style and attitude through one of the most fashionable accessories on the market, the handbag. When shopping for your new bestfriend consider your lifestyle, your body type, your wardrobe and the quality of the goods, but most of all have fun and look fabulous, darlings!

How To Farm Gold In World Of Warcraft – 14 Easy Ways To Gold In WOW

Filed under: 0 1 Knapsack Articles — waven4 at 7:02 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2010  Tagged , , , ,

There are many ways to farm gold in World of Warcraft. Here are some easy ways:

  1. Nestled in the small valley in the South middle edge of the Badlands Zone, you can farm normal rock elements. Grey loot is dropped at every kill, and you can get 50 silver to 1.5 WoW gold.
  2. Elemental Earth is also dropped (one in 17 times) and sells at the AH for 1-3 WoW gold a piece.
  3. Farm elemental slaves on the West side of the Alterac Mountains to get 1-3 WoW gold for a piece of the Elemental Earth dropped one in 15 times.
  4. Elemental Exiles on the South West Arathis Highlands will give Elemental Eaths, which will fetch 1-3 WoW gold.
  5. Farming will also get you gold: the Arathi Highlands will get you 30nps of 2-6 silver each on 3-5 minute spawn timers (times are not often camped). If you are AOE class you can get more than 1-5 WoW gold. As the Alliance, you can farm for 30-40nps of 2-6 silver each on 3-5 minute spawn timers, to get 1-5 WoW gold per hour.
  6. In the North West corner of the map, in Tristfall Glades, is the Secret Scarlet Monastery Graveyard – this can get you 2-6 silver kill.
  7. Farm the Scarlet Monastery Chests and locked chests for large knapsacks – 1.25-2 WoW gold each, and occasionally you might get a blue item instead of a knapsack (one in 11 locked chests). Look also in the graveyard library and armory – but not the Cathedral. You can easily get 8 locked chests and 10 regular per hour. Use a Rogue to pick the locks, or with a 150 blacksmith skill you can use Gold Skeleton Keys.
  8. Farm Warpwoods (North side of Felwood Zone near the alliance flight parth person) and Deadwoods (just South West of Warpwoods) for 2-10 silver rare herb drops (these will get you 1-5 WoW gold each). At the AH, Living Essence sells for 1-1.5 WoW gold.
  9. Farm the stockades in Stormwind City for easy greens and wool – every other kill is worth 3-5 pieces of wool. A stack of wool at the AH can fetch 77 silver to 2 WoW gold.
  10. West of the alliance/horde flight points is the twilight hammer elites in the Searging Gorge – you can make 10 WoW gold per hour off the coin drops (2-16 silver per kill), and 5-20 WoW gold per hour for the green and mageweave drops (3-5 mageweave cloth per drop).
  11. In the Western shore of Westfall, there is a small outpost of trappers who have a 35% drop rate for linen cloth.
  12. When you enter Azshara from Ashenvale, on the left side of the road you’ll see Shadowsong Shire. You’ll be able to farm the ghosts there for mageweave, green drops and random chests.
  13. The Southern part of Eastern Plaguelands will see plenty of Plaguebats, which you can farm for Evil Bat Eyes (up to 2 WoW gold per piece) – especially during the Darkmoon Faire.
  14. Also in the EPL, Carrion Grubs and Carrion Devourers have a high drop rate for Laval acid, which can fetch up to 7 WoW gold!

Hopefully, this will get you some World of Warcraft gold quickly, but even better – easily! Good luck and happy gold farming!

Killing Animals To Survive

Filed under: 0 1 Knapsack Articles — waven4 at 7:38 am on Friday, March 26, 2010  Tagged , , , , , ,

The snake kept moving even after the head was cut off, the insides taken out, and the skin removed. I had strung it up from a branch to clean it. When it finally stopped moving, I put it in a plastic bread bag and stuffed it in my knapsack. Later I would split the pound of meat into two pieces. One was for a stew, and the other for roasting over the fire.

I was fourteen years old, and I wanted to know everything about wilderness survival. I am more interested in backpacking now than in wilderness survival trips, but the survival lessons have stayed with me, and they make me feel more at home in the wilderness. It is safer to be out there if you know how to survive. Knowing things like which berries you can eat also means you can go lighter when backpacking.

However, there is something I have noticed when talking to backpackers who have an interest in wilderness survival. Very often they are interested in how to make a bow and arrows, or traps for animals, or spears and bolas. These things are interesting to me too, but it is a mistake to think that these are the skills most likely to save the life of a lost hiker.

Wilderness Survival – Killing Animals

First of all, survival for a lost backpacker is rarely a matter of food. Shelter, water, avoiding injury and getting found all take precedence over food. When it is time to look for food, though, animals are the surest source of calories and protein, and the surest way to obtain this food is to look for the easiest animals to kill and the easiest ways to do this.

This does not include fancy weapons that take hours to fashion. You are not trying to live out there, remember, but only to stay alive long enough to be found. What, then, are some of the easiest animals to hunt and the easiest ways to kill them? They include the following:

Porcupines

These prickly, slow moving animals are one of the best survival foods out there. If you can walk and hold a stick, you can hunt a porcupine. They were traditionally left alone by mountain men, in order to leave a ready supply of easy food in the woods for anyone who was lost and hungry.

They don’t die quickly, so you’ll have to club them hard and repeatedly. To clean a porcupine, roll it over with a stick and cut it open from below. Be careful of the quills. You should be able to skin it from the underside without getting stuck. Then you can cook it over a fire (they taste good, by the way).

Fish

If you can see fish in shallow water, they are probably easier to spear with a sharpened stick than to catch with a hook and bait. Another way to get them is to wait with your hand poised over a spot they swim by, and quickly pin them to the bottom with your hand as they come into range. I have caught 30 small fish in an hour or two in this way.

Other Easy Animals

Snakes can be caught by hand, or with the help of a stick (preferable in the case of venomous ones). Crayfish can be found under rocks and logs in lakes and streams, and boil up just like miniature lobsters. Quail and other birds that nest on the ground can sometimes be killed with a well-aimed rock, and usually circle back to give you another chance. Bird eggs don’t run away to fast either.

Clams, insects, grubs from rotten logs, turtles – these are some of the other foods that can be caught by hand. This isn’t about proving your “skills” or being the mighty hunter. Look for the easy ways. When it comes to food, wilderness survival is simply about efficiently gathering calories.
